3 year old prospects

*Stella_-_2010

blaze-4 righty-3 lefty-3These attractive bay fillies are 3 year olds.  They are are sired by Call Him The Flash, AQHA Reining Point earner. Two of their dams are daughters of ‘Drifter’.  One is out of a daughter of Bart Bartender ( World Show qualifier with AQHA Points in 5 events). Two are absolutely identical and are well started under saddle.  These two are also being started in harness as a team.  They are really nice performance and trail prospects.  They ride very quietly out on the trail and in the pasture.  They will priced according to how much more training they have at the time someone inquires about them, but they will be reasonably priced.  They are listed individually below.

This beautiful set of uniform fillies could put a serious new breeder in the breeding business of producing quality Foundation-bred Quarter Horses.

[The gorgeous palomino in the top photo is a ‘Flash’ daughter in California, owned and loved (and NOT for sale) by Andi Culbertson.]

Blaze-1

blaze-31-B}  ZIPS FLASH –2013 BAY FILLY — SIRE:  CALL HIM THE FLASH.  DAM:  DRIFTERS BLUE ZIP, a gorgeous daughter of ‘Drifter’ out of Zips Teardrop, a pleasure bred mare.

This blaze face filly has more muscle and ‘shape’ than most horses and is an outstanding ranch type halter or performance prospect.  She was started last year, was ridden earlier this year by Ben Wright.  He is a well-known colt started for several top reined cowhorse trainers including 3-time Wold’s Greatest Horseman, Russell Dilday.   She is an outstanding cowhorse, roping or ranch performance prospect and is a wonderful trail horse right now.  She is big, stout, quick footed and very powerful — an extremely athlete and the filly that everyone is drawn to.  She has ‘big-time heading horse’ written all over her.   She is very gentle and easy to get along with but also has a lot of athletic ability.  She will mature at 15.1 to 15.2 hands.  She is an excellent prospect for the AQHA ranch division, the Stock Horse shows or the Foundation Shows. This filly has never offered to buck, even the first time she was saddled.    She can be caught up after running out for several weeks, can be saddled and will ride off like an old ranch horse.  She willingly goes anywhere you point her head.  She rides alone or with any other horses.  She is shod, been hauled to several trail rides and is ready for anyone with enough riding experience to take a young horse on to greater things.  She is 100% sound and healthy

She is currently priced at $3500.00.  She will be reevaluated as she gets more training.

Lefty-3lefty-72-B}  FLASHY BLUES –2013 BAY FILLY — SIRE:  CALL HIM THE FLASH.  DAM: Elegant Blues – Own daughter of Bart Bartender, World Show qualified with AQHA Points in 5 events.

This is ‘LEFTY’, a good looking bay filly with excellent conformation, sound and very correct in every way.   She is named ‘Lefty’ because of her partial white pastern on her left front leg.   This is the only easy way to tell her from her 3/4 sister, RIGHTY, listed below.

Lefty is a very well-made attractive mare with excellent conformation.  She is absolutely correct and sound in every way.   She was ridden quite a bit last year.  She was ridden more this year by professional horseman, Ben Wright (who starts many colts for NRCHA trainers).   She rides very gentle and is easy to get along with.   She has had a lot of ranch riding out in the pasture as well as arena riding.  She is a good mover, smooth gaited and athletic.   She is a very good extreme trail prospect.   She is very suitable for a ‘project horse’ for the novice trainer / rider. She is very laid back and easy going.  She is an excellent prospect for the AQHA ranch division, the Stock Horse shows or the Foundation Shows.  She is a natural ‘stopper’.  She is shod and currently being trail ridden in the Arbuckle Mountains.  She also willingly goes anywhere you point her head.  She is priced very reasonably at $3500.00 before further training.

righty-53-B}  FLASHIN LADY –2013 BAY FILLY — SIRE:  CALL HIM THE FLASH.  DAM: Lady Blue Drifter.  Her dam is sired by ‘Drifter’ and is out of Elegant Blues by Bart Bartender.

This is ‘RIGHTY’, a good looking bay filly with excellent conformation, sound and very correct in every way.   She is named ‘Righty’ because of her partial white pastern on her right front leg.   This is the only easy way to tell her from her 3/4 sister, LEFTY, listed above.

Righty is a very well-made attractive mare with excellent conformation.  She is absolutely correct and sound in every way.  She is also very well-started and rides gentle but has a bit bigger motor and makes some very athletic moves.  She already has a pretty good ‘turn-around’ and is a nice reining, cowhorse prospect for the ranch and Foundation shows or a nice roping prospect.  She is also smooth gaited and  a natural ‘stopper’.   She is already a very nice trail horse and a good ‘pasture’ horse for checking fences and cattle.  She is very suitable for someone that is a pretty experienced rider to take on as a ‘project horse’.   She has a little bigger motor than Lefty, but is safe, not ‘bronchy or spooky and has never offered to buck at all.

Righty has also been trail ridden a lot.  She is solid and gentle and has also never offered to buck .   She is priced very reasonably at $3500.00 before further training.

We would make a special ‘deal’ if someone would like to take two or all three of these fillies.  Any two of them would make an absolutely gorgeous buggy team.  We have thee harness to fit them and will try to get them driving this fall if we have the time.   Otherwise, the above prices are firm and will go up with more training.

3yr-dun-14-B}  DUNIT WITHA ZIP –2013 DUN FILLY — SIRE: Sire: Sandunit Two Peppy, a son of Dun It With A Twist (LTE $109,000.00), an own son of Hollywood Dunit out of Peppymint Twist, leading producer of reining and cutting horses.   Dam: Zips Teardrop, a daughter of Investers Pine Bar out of Seven Teardrops, a mare that had AQHA points in Barrel Racing and Team Roping (heading).

This dun filly was started last fall and rode very gentle.  She is being trail ridden now about 3 times a week.  She is going to mature about 15 hands, she is stocky and has excellent bone and feet.  She is very laid back and so gentle that she was really just ‘born  broke’.  All of the sons and daughters of her mother have been so gentle and kind that they have have made excellent youth and novice horses.  They just want to get along.

This filly is not real impressive looking, but she is cute and very correct, sound and very laid back — really pleasant to ride.  She is extremely gentle and kind.  She has no bad habits and is easy to shoe, (shod now), bathe, load and haul with no bad habits of any kind and goes anywhere you point her head.  This is the perfect horse for a recreational trail ride or someone that is wanting to go into extreme trail.  She is just now learning to ride ‘one-handed’ and is still ‘green’ by our standards, but is ready to become someone’s trail partner.

She does have a bump and a scar on the outside of her left front canon from the May, 2016 tornado.   She is guaranteed absolutely 100% sound but will carry the scar forever.    Offered for $2500.00 if purchased this summer.

Sassy-1

3yr-gray-35-B} Sxxxxxxxxxx — Sire: CALL HIM THE FLASH  —  a super finished reiner that is drop dead gorgeous.  He has AQHA reining points with very limited showing.  Dam:  Sassy Class Act,  one of our last daughters of Classical Silver.  Sassy Class Act won the weanling stakes at the OK Foundation Quarter Horse Assoc. show when she was a baby (out of 7 fillies shown) and won over $700.00.

We bought her maternal grandmother from the Waggoner Ranch (of Poco Bueno fame) and this filly’s dam was her last foal.   She was a granddaughter of Sassy Doc and Hired Hand’s Cardinal, with Poco Nifty Pep on her papers. She was an AQHA producer with a performance filly that was exported to Europe.  You cannot get any closer to the great Foundation Sires than through this gray filly.

This elegant gray filly sired by Call Him The Flash can go any direction.  She is eligible for the Foundation Registries and all of their classes.  She is big (15.2 hands), will still fill out a lot, is a pretty and smooth mover.  She is just stunning.   She is very well started under saddle and has been ridden a lot out in the pasture and on the trail.  She does have a pretty big motor and will go all day.  She has no buck in her and rides completely gentle and trustworthy.  She goes absolutely anywhere you point her head.

she was bruised and battered in the May tornado.   She was slightly ‘off’ in her left hind for a while.  The Vet felt she would be fine with a little time as there was no actual diagnosed injury — just general bruising and soreness.  No one will ever know what happened while we were in the tornado shelter.  She appears okay now, but we want to keep her a bit longer and rider her a lot harder before we price her.   Come look at her and ride her if you would like.   We are keeping our fingers crossed that she will be 100% sound.

UPDATE:  The past month she has been on several 3 and 4 hour trail-rides and stayed completely sound.   We now feel safe sending her to a new home and job.  Priced at only $2500.00 before more training.

Four year olds and up

We have one really nice four year old dun gelding by War Chiefs Pride (‘Drifter’), the Driftwood stallion we sold to the UK.   He is a full brother to horses shown very successfully in the Foundation Shows, both at halter and in performance.  This is an outstanding show prospect and will make the quietest trail and pleasure horse you will find anywhere.   His dam is a Zippo Pine pleasure bred mare that was ‘born broke’ and all of her sons and daughters have been that same way.  He is also the last ‘Drifter’ foal to be foaled in the U.S.  He is well started under saddle and has already had many many trail miles put on him.  He rides very gentle and is ready for a new owner to finish him in the direction of their desire.  If he is still here by the first part of the summer, we will start working him on cattle and give him an occupation.  He will always be a great trail horse or youth horse because of his great attitude and user-friendly nature.  $4500.00

This good looking young mare has had about 90 days of riding.  She rides gentle (never offered to buck) and has been pasture ridden a lot.   She has a lot of ability and we would like to see her go to a performance home.   She would show very successfully in the Foundation Shows or the Ranch or stock horse shows.    This is the young mare that catches everyone’s eye.   $4000.00

2 Year Old Prospects

We have never tried to sell our yearlings or 2 year olds before.  We have always just turned them out and then ridden them when they were 2 1/2 to 3 years old.   We are not holding any back.  This is ALL of them.  Take your pick.  We are getting too old, but we will try to ride the ones that are left

red-wolfe-7a1-W} Sorrel Filly —  Sire: CALL HIM THE FLASH —  a super finished reiner that is drop dead gorgeous.  He has AQHA reining points with very limited showing.  Dam: Drifters Tonya — now owned by Wolf Ranch LLC.
This is a gorgeous show quality sorrel filly.  You cannot find a fault in her.  she will be a show stopper and head turner where she is.

2-W} Bay Filly — Sire: CALL HIM THE FLASH —  a super finished reiner that is drop dead gorgeous.  He has AQHA reining points with very limited showing.  Dam: Elegant Blues, a daughter of Barts Bartender (AQHA points in 5 events).  Second dam is Bay Elegance, AQHA points in reining and cowhorse, dam of our old foundation stallion, Classical Silver.  She was a daughter of Doty’s Socks Jr. our original AQHA Champion stallion with AQHA points in 10 events and an NCHA Certificate of ability.
This is a good looking bay filly.   All of her brothers and sisters have been outstanding ranch and trail horses with super dispositions and a lot of ability.  Her last son we sold is now a roping horse.  She is being ridden now and rides very gentle.  We will get a photo of her posted as soon as possible.    $1500.00 before she receives more training.

3-W} Gray Filly — Sire:  Fannin Fun — A good looking gray son of Real Gun (AQHA Super Horse) out of a Topsail Cody mare.   Dam:  Dam:  Sassy Class Act,  one of our last daughters of Classical Silver.  Sassy Class Act won the weanling stakes at the Ok Foundation Quarter Horse Assoc. show when she was a baby (out of 7 fillies shown) and won over $700.00.
This is a really good looking gray filly.  She is dark (nearly black), so will dapple out and stay dark for several years.  She is absolutely correct and has excellent conformation.  We have been saddling her and ground driving her.  This is gong to be a very competitive filly in the Ranch and Foundation Shows.  $2500.00 if purchased before we get her going solidly under saddle.  Watch for pictures

This is BIG, stout, good-looking gray gelding that will make a ranch gelding or roping horse deluxe.  This big colt has looks, athletic ability and a super fine disposition.  He has been sent to Ben Wright to be started.   He says that he is riding very well and will make an excellent ranch gelding.  He will be priced after he gets back home and we can start riding him.  The above photo was taken several months ago and ‘Blue’ is much bigger and heavier now.  This is going to be one big, stout gelding, ready to carry a big rider all day.  We can’t wait until he come home.

5-W} Sorrel gelding — Sire:  Fannin Fun — A good looking gray son of Real Gun (AQHA Super Horse) out of a Topsail Cody mare.   Dam: Zips Teardrop, a daughter of Investers Pine Bar out of Seven Teardrops, a mare that had AQHA points in Barrel Racing and Team Roping (heading)
