A Little Ranch & Family History and where we are at in 2024!
Cheri originally came from Colorado 44 years ago, bringing several horses. One of those horses was Bay Elegance, a daughter of Cheri’s original mare, Miss Keck, the producer of 7 AQHA horses with race and show records including several state champions in both Colorado and Oklahoma and AQHA World Show qualifiers. In 2001 at age 27, Bay Elegance produced her last foal, a gray filly, Gunners Babe, by GUNS OF MARIETTA, a PLAYGUN son. The sire of Bay Elegance was Cheri’s old foundation stallion, AQHA CHAMPION, DOTY’S SOCKS JR. Besides becoming an AQHA Champion in May of his 3-year-old year, He was a superior halter horse, a superior pleasure horse, and had a total of 239 AQHA points in 10 events! (Before circuits and multiple judge shows.) He was an NCHA cutting champion and had an NCHA Certificate of Ability. He sired AQHA champions, APHA Champions, NCHA cutting champions and numerous ROMs, and producers. “He was the kind of ALL AROUND horse the Wolfe Ranch still strives to produce today!”
Pete, sadly passed away September 11, 2021. Cheri has battled Arthritis and Degenerative Joint Disease for more than 20 years and sadly, can no longer ride. The ranch has hired expert 'colt starters'. All of our young horses are now being started under saddle here on the ranch. They are being started slowly and carefully; they are NEVER allowed to buck or 'play'. They are ridden out in the pasture and on the trails in the Arbuckle Mountains from their 3rd or 4th ride, on. We do not think you can train a horse properly in a round pen or in an arena. We think they need to be ridden outside.
Thanks to you (the public), this web site has been so popular and so successful. I (Cheri) got behind when Pete was sick and right after we lost him. I am now catching up as fast as I can. I am catching up on posting photos of the horses we are now riding. They range from 3 to 5 years old. We have a number of registered AQHA horses and about 10 draft crosses sired by TINY that are for sale. These are outstanding prospect for ranch and trail horses.
Each year we sell several horses over the phone or internet ‘sight unseen’ to people we have never met. We try to be absolutely up front about every little detail of each horse.
Since we can no longer show competitively ourselves, we are now taking out trail riders on trail rides in the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma. The young horses that we do ride, are often used for guide horses when we take out trail riders. Check out our trail ride website.
We have sold many horses to Europe and the UK and sold a stallion and several mares to a breeder in central Mexico. We sold two horses the UK in May, 2022. We can arrange quarantine and all shipment world wide.

All are eligible for the Foundation Registries and are bred to excel in the AQHA Ranch Versatility Competition, in the new AQHA ranch division and the stock horse associations. Many are very nice show prospects. They are sired by sons of Real Gun (AQHA Super Horse), Dunit With A Twist and Call Him The Flash (AQHA reining point earner).
These are fillies that we had planned to keep -- the best of the best. Since Pete is gone, I am getting old, and our only son is not interested in the horses, they sadly, are now all for sale!
